Rollins Honors Employees at Annual Awards Celebration

On Friday, May 28, Rollins College hosted its Annual Service Award Celebration recognizing Rollins employees who have accomplished milestones in their careers: years of services, retirement and graduation. The 2010 recipients of the Helen A. Ward Crossley Award for Staff, Thaddeus Seymour Staff Award for Community Engagement and President’s Award for Diversity & Inclusion were also announced.

connieHelen A. Ward Crossley Award
Hamilton Holt School Director of Student Services Connie Holt received the Helen A. Ward Crossley Award, which was established in 1999 as a means of recognizing Rollins staff members for their outstanding service and dedication to the College. The award is granted annually to the individual staff member whose contributions to the College over time most consistently demonstrate one or more of the award success criteria, as determined by a selection committee.

loriThaddeus Seymour Award
Program Coordinator for Crummer’s Center for Advanced Entrepreneurship Lori Roth received the Thaddeus Seymour Award, which was established in 2006 as a means of recognizing Rollins staff members for sustainable and demonstrated service in local and global communities. In the spirit of Rollins College’s mission of Global Citizenship and Responsible Leadership, this award is to be granted annually to the individual staff member whose leadership, dedication and commitment has created positive, socially just, creative and focused ways of transforming the lives of the people, events and environments in local and global communities.

rayThe President’s Award for Diversity and Inclusion
Director of Career Services Ray Rogers received The President’s Award for Diversity and Inclusion, which was established this year as a means of recognizing and honoring students, faculty and staff for their efforts aimed at promoting diversity awareness, representation and inclusion within the Rollins workplace and student community. The award is granted annually to an individual whose contributions and actions over time best exemplify the principles and ideals of diversity and inclusion.

Administrative Assistant in Economics Sharon Miller retired after 21 years of service.

Payroll Manager in Human Resources Candy Simkin retired after 32 years of service.
