LGBT: More Than an Acronym
April 26, 2010
LGBT may seem like just a bunch of alphabet soup. But to the Rollins community it means something more. These various acronyms represent the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender community. And while there seems to be a monotonous amount of special letters, everyone on campus knows someone who is a part of this community, or they may be a part of the community themselves.
On April 15, members and friends of the LGBT community came together to discuss several detrimental issues here on campus, from housing to SafeZone training. Spectrum and the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) hosted the event as a part of Rollins’ Week of Action and a broad span of more than 25 conscientious people were in attendance.
