Rollins College Appoints Edward Bustos as First Director of International Admission
November 11, 2009
In this newly created position, Bustos will lead the school’s international recruiting efforts, beginning with Latin America and the Caribbean then expanding abroad to Asia, among other regions.
“Bolstering international recruitment is a key initiative for Rollins, and I am honored to drive the effort for the school,” said Bustos. “These students bring a different perspective to college life and the classroom. They help to foster an educational environment that is richer and bring a global view of the issues that they regularly discuss in and out of the classroom.”
Bustos previously worked in admissions at Rollins College from 2002-07. In his role as associate director of admissions, Bustos coordinated international recruitment for the college and played a key part in the selection and admission of these students. He also acted as the designated school official for all immigration policies and visas for international students.
Bustos has also served as president and CEO of Hispanic Business Initiative Fund, Inc., the leading Hispanic economic development nonprofit organization in Florida. The organization provides bilingual assistance to Hispanic entrepreneurs trying to establish or expand their businesses in Florida.
Bustos obtained his B.A. in Latin American and Caribbean Affairs from Rollins College and was awarded his M.B.A from the Crummer Graduate School of Business.
