Alon and Kupetz Business Case Recognized as One of the Best-Selling Cases Worldwide for the Third Consecutive Year
November 29, 2010
For the third consecutive year, a business case written by Professor of International Business Ilan Alon and Crummer Executive-In-Residence Allen H. Kupetz has been recognized as one of the best-selling cases worldwide. “Ruth’s Chris – The High Stakes of International Expansion” has sold over 7,300 copies, been chosen for use in five prominent marketing textbooks, translated into Chinese, and selected for distribution by Harvard Business Publishing for Educators.
“Writing cases is a wonderful opportunity to bring the real world to business students,” said Kupetz. “Highlighting how real companies are dealing with real challenges gives students a chance to play CEO or work as part of a small team to use all the tools an MBA education develops.”
Alon and Kupetz have collaborated on other cases and are planning two more in 2011.
“The case demonstrates to the business community as well as to business students how business may select new markets,” said Alon. “Having the subject of the case come into the classroom brings additional realism, not seen in other case-study teaching approaches”
