Greg Marshall Completes Term as Academy of Marketing Science President

Marshall, Charles Harwood professor of marketing and strategy in the Crummer School, recently completed a two-year term as president of the Academy of Marketing Science (AMS). AMS is the leading fully global society of marketing academicians with membership of 1,500 split about 65-35 percent between outside- and inside-U.S. professors.

During his term, Marshall oversaw several major strategic initiatives including the AMS 40th anniversary celebration during 2011, solidification of the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science as a global top-five marketing journal, launch of a second AMS-published journal (AMS Review) focused on non-empirical work, creation of a new AMS Global Marketer of the Year Award, and significant investment in the professional development of marketing doctoral students and early career assistant professors. He will now serve a two-year term on the AMS executive team as immediate past president.
