O'Sullivan and Zhang Present Dual-Language Publication at Shanghai Universities

A Winter in the SunshineDuring the week of June 18, 2012, Kenneth Curry Professor of Literature Maurice (Socky) O’Sullivan and Head of Archives & Special Collections Wenxian Zhang visited Shanghai for the publication of the Chinese translation of their award-winning book, A Trip to Florida for Health and Sport: the Lost 1855 Novel of Cyrus Parkhurst Condit. The publication is based on an 1855 manuscript Zhang found in the Rollins archives, and has been published in a new edition with a new introduction by Shanghai University Press and renamed A Winter in the Sunshine. Translated by Zhang and Yiqi Yu, the book is the first dual-language book about Florida published by a Chinese academic press.

As part of the activities surrounding the event, they presented a seminar to faculty and graduate students at Shanghai University and had a conversation and book signing with students at the College of Foreign Languages at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology.
